Elevator in Manhattan

Jennifer Laidlaw is a freelance writer from Vancouver, Canada with a constant itch to see the world. Combining a passion for travel, music and painting pictures with words, Jennifer can often be found scribbling must-see concerts into her calendar and whipping together itineraries for her next adventure.

With a degree in Communications from Simon Fraser University and diploma in Radio and Television Broadcasting from Columbia Academy in Vancouver, this girl currently works the nine-to-five as a communications coordinator and editor of a health care publication for a Vancouver health authority. Her first ‘career’ job entailed flying above the city in a Cessna for six terrifying months as a traffic reporter for local radio stations – News1130, 1410 CFUN and The Team 1040 – before finding solid ground on Vancouver Island as a news and sports reporter/announcer.

Now living in the hippy/Greek/university neighbourhood of Kitsilano in Vancouver, Jennifer spends her weekends perusing the racks of local thrift stores, catching live tunes and pedaling around on her ancient vintage bike that probably is as old as it sounds.
